The ensemble had its beginnings during the Fall of 2005 soon after our vibraphonist Dan Sieber and violinist Rich Barbera came to play with our small workshop. Sad to say Mr. Barbera is no longer with us after a two year stay with our group. Mundo Clave is a soulful latin jazz group of great musicians that has evolved from clave jazz to salsa to son and back again.
Our new voices, with Steve Forrey on trumpet and Daniel Arboleda on tenor sax/flute in conjunction with our vibes, montuno pianist and sensational rhythm section make our performances unique and memorable.
Whether in 3-2 or 2-3, the Afro-Cuban clave is the happiest heartbeat and the most rhytmically grooving you will ever experience.
Id like to thank the group members for believing in this project from the word go, for giving their time, love and allowing others to hang their hats in the shop.
A special thanks goes to Richard Barbera and drummer Eamon Ellams for their support and hard work to bring us to professional level. They will be missed.
To all those whose steps we follow, such as: Cal Tjader, Mongo Santamaria, Dizzy Gillespie, Ray Barretto, Arturo Sandoval, Eddie Palmieri, Dave Valentin, Paquito DRivera, Poncho Sanchez, Ray Vega, Jerry Gonzalez ... thanks.
Thank you for stopping in and checking us out.
